Spring!

I spent three of the last four days digging--woohooo!  Good medicine for me, as I need a certain amount of digging to stay sane.  I sunburned my shoulders and arms (yes, at 53 yrs old, I can still be that dumb) and my back and bum are still sore from all the stooping, but it felt good to get some work done out there.

I've got rag dolls in the works right now, hiding modestly in their future garment fabrics.  Got some experience needle-felting the second doll's hair to her head--never did that before and it was fun!




And lastly, I've been playing with some Easter Eggs.  Tiny paper mache eggs--for my little indoor and outdoor seasonal trees, and for my Etsy shop--and some heavy wooden ones.  Hope y'all are enjoying some good weather too!

    Yay, for dirt! When we had spring a couple of weeks ago, I chopped and hoed to my heart's content. But, alas, it is winter here once again. Golly, I love your rag dolls!! Is that some of your wool applique in the first photo?

      It is wool applique--I'm doing a big penny rug for my coffee table. Not quite finished--still have 17 pennies and 8 leaves to stitch, and then a bit of embroidery. I love it, but it's pretty time consuming.

    I'm so glad your diggin again! I needle felted a Santa beard, it was fun. Lovely dollies, eggs and penny rug!

      Ooh, I didn't think of a Santa Beard! That sounds like fun. My Santa's have all be clay, but maybe a raggedy Santa is in order. :~P

    Such fine rag dolls. they are prettier than most of the rag dolls. they have very expressive sweet faces. You can make lots of types of dolls, but I see most people usually do turn to rag doll making every so often. I love them. I love yard work too, but hopefully, eventually, I can work out there too. We are still renovating and that has to come first, but I have always loved to work outside. I know your yard is super pretty. The little eggs are nice. You painted them with great designs and will have a fine Easter display. I have tonight started painting some flat head painted rag dolls, so you might enjoy having a look at their beginnings. I have a long way to go with them, but, you might enjoy seeing how they are progressing.

      I went, saw, and commented on your lovely rag dolls. I'm with you--no matter how fun it is to sculpt (and it is one of my favorite activities) there is something about making a simple rag doll that comforts me.

    First my friend, I went to your Esty and bought your Long Legged Rabbit! Perfect for our grand daughters First Easter, So you know what I will be doing today, Have to make it and get it in the mail to her before Easter. Your Rag Dolls are wonderful,Their faces are beautiful, I so love Rag Dolls, Nothing like them, They seem so a live as they give back! Long time ago I did do the needle felted hair, It is fun to do, You did a amazing job!. I fell in "Love" with your paper mache' eggs, They are so delicate and so spring! Just love them, I also LOVED your Betsy doll, I have one I bought on eBay years ago. she still has her original dress socks and shoes. I love the dress you have on yours, did you make it ? I had a Betsy doll when I was little, When I saw this one on eBay I knew I just had to have her, She over looks my dolls I make,!
